John Daly is an American professional golfer who in 97 became the first PGA tour player to average more than 300 yards per drive over a full season, he did so again in every year from 99 until 2008.
In March of 2009 Daly’s swing coach quit because “the most important thing in his life is getting drunk. I think his lies kind of destroyed my life for a little bit.”
Daly was taken into protective custody by Winston-Salem police after being found drunk outside of a hooter’s restaurant, and despite not being charged his mugshot was released.
He has also had great difficulty with a gambling problem, claiming he has lost between US$50 and $60 million over a 15-year period.
